RUN STUDENT BECOMES A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT AT 400 LEVEL
Miss Oluwaseun Peters , A 400 level student of the Department of Financial Studies, College of Management Sciences, Redeemer’s University, was one of the successful candidates at the November 2008 final examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Oluwaseun Peters along with other RUN students, began the ATS/ICAN programme in November 2005. She wrote the first ATS1 examination in March 2006, and the final PE3 in November 2008. In the course of sitting for the ICAN examinations, Seun Peters won two awards. She was adjudged the best candidate in Preparation and Audit of Financial Statements at the March 2007. ICAN/ATS3 examinations, and won the Balogun J.O. Omidiora’s Prize in Public Sector Accounting and Finance at the May 2008 ICAN-PE2 examinations.
Other RUN students who have excelled in the ICAN examinations include, Miss Damilola Adetunji and Miss Motoluwaso Ijalana, Damilola was adjudged the best candidate in Preparation and Audit of Financial Statements, was in the second position in order of merit in ATS3 examination of September 2008. Mofoluwaso was the best candidate in Economics in the March 2008 ICAN-ATS1 examination.
The University is very proud of these students and commends the efforts of the students; Mr Oluyombo and Mr Imeokparia, the outgoing and incoming coordinators respectively, and all teaching staff of the ICAN programme at RUN.
