REVIEW OF THE UNIVERSITY REGULATION ON REGISTRATION FOR COURSES
At its 24th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, 14th April, 2009, the Committee of Deans observed that for a student to meet the regulatory requirement of 80% attendance in lectures and tutorials to write the examination for a Course, he/she must have registered and attended classes for the Course for at least twelve (12) weeks.
In that regard, the University regulation on registration for Courses has been reviewed as follows:
Registration for courses takes place in the first week of a
given Semester. Students who cannot meet this deadline
are allowed to do late registration on the payment of a
sum of N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) only. However, no
registration will be allowed after three (3) weeks from the
beginning of a given Semester.Failure to complete registration within the stipulated time
would be regarded as absence from the University for a
whole semester and the penalty is withdrawal from the
University.
Please note that the above regulation supersedes the regulations on late registration and absence from the University as contained on pages 10 and 43 of the Students’ Handbook of Information respectively.
